The room had good bones and bad decisions: a bulkhead, a soffit and a pantry wall blocking the only south window.
Soffits out, shiplap up, and the window seat rebuilt at a height an adult can actually sit on. Cabinetry is painted poplar with a pale oak pantry run for warmth.
This is a $35,000 kitchen with the money spent where it shows: light, cabinetry and one very good sink.
